Kolin Institute of Technology (KIT) was established in 2009 as a non-governmental non-profit association with a national sphere of activity.

The mission of KIT is to disseminate scientific findings among the public, promote increasing levels of education and a creative, rational and humanely responsible environment while reflecting the sustainable development principles in the Czech Republic.
 

The fundamental objectives of KIT are as follows:
  • to disseminate scientific findings among the public, promote increasing levels of education and a creative, rational and humanely responsible environment while reflecting the sustainable development principles in the Czech Republic; assist in personality development, increase the numbers, professionalism and social status of scientists, researchers and educationists; promote and create knowledge among students and pupils;

  • to associate scientists and teachers in all scientific disciplines and create conditions for interdisciplinary collaboration and information exchange;

  • to promote the popularisation and dissemination of scientific and research results among the professional and lay public; open and extend the expert and public debate on scientific research results; provide information on scientific work and its output and practical application opportunities;

  • to promote the professional advancement of scientists, pupils, students, teachers and the professional public (such as members of non-profit organisations or professional associations) in the form of specialised seminars, consultations and advice, and discussion groups;

  • to promote the transfer of scientific and research results into practice; contribute own analyses on specific scientific issues and conclusions of latest research and development, and popularise them.
